The maker of 4 years old Inc. is not aspiring to be the next Galliano, Kawakubo or even, Klein. 26 year old Jamie Png just want to design beautiful clothes that look so swanky and vogue – even ten years down the road from here, never a bore to the eyes.
"Fashion trends look ugly and dated when it's over," Jamie reveals. "What I’m trying to do is to make straightforward, wearable pieces - easy to incorporate into anybody’s wardrobe" But this does not mean that Jamie is not interested in fashion trends. She makes the trend work by featuring them subtly into her designs, especially in the details and fabrications.
Jamie was trained at the School of Design in Temasek Polytechnic and her resume boasts of several years of sales experience for several local designers as well as a stint as an assistant designer. All these help hone her eye for fashion and gave her a sense of sensitivity with the market demands.

Inc.'s debut collection was a palette of muted colours like grey, green, navy and black, with the occasional spurt of red and pink. Now, with many past collections under her belt, Jamie continues to stick to that palette, creating asymmetrical tops in jersey knits, sports-inspired casual wear, A-line dresses but indulging with lots of floral prints.
At the present, she hopes to continue with her designing direction, and that it will be welcomed by the customers. "I always have a lot of fun doing it, and I hope that the customers have a lot of fun wearing my clothes," Jamie says. "Ultimately, seeing your designs being bought and worn is the best form of reward."
And what's the ideal Inc. customer like? "She's a diverse mix of things," Jamie muses. "Someone who is street-cool stylish, yet elegant in a way. Someone who has personality and a mind of her own, unconventional in her dressing, but not overdoing it. You know, the kind of girl who always gets it right."
